Whether a piece I create is abstract, expressionistic or representational – it is playful art.......... art of the upbeat, pure and affirmative.

Play is an intense and absorbing experience rooted in the subconscious where rules are suspended. This is the realm of the intuitive, of the innovative, of the imagination.  As I explore this reality, I am challenged to discover ways to communicate what I see and feel about my inner world and the world around me. I delight in “playing” with textural and colorful mosaic materials devising visual images that will draw the viewer into that realm where they see the world as a child sees it....without fear or baggage. 

My intention is to present visual images that evoke this sense of purity and simplicity – a counter to the turmoil and trouble of the world today.  Art serves many purposes in our culture.  My hope is that my art will refresh and renew the spirit of the viewer.

Art is one way I give to others.  Wherever it rests will have impact on the viewer.  The process of doing art is my experience; when it is completed, it becomes the viewers experience and I see this process as a sacred challenge - to make a relationship with the viewer through a visual message that is stimulating, energizing, thought provoking and truthful.
